How WYWH Coffee sold 15% more of its higher-margin items
WYWH put video on every item on its menu, from Spanish lattes to chicken and waffles. Owner Daniel Betancourt says sales of the higher-margin items went up, and that running the menu got easier.

Video on every item
WYWH is a coffee shop that also does brunch and cocktails, which makes for a long menu with a wide spread of prices. A Spanish latte and a plate of chicken and waffles sit on the same page.
On a text menu those two items look equally important. On a video menu the dishes with the most going on get to look like it, and those tend to be the higher-priced ones.

In the owner’s words
Daniel Betancourt owns WYWH. He named two results, and said the second one mattered more.
“15% increase in sales on higher margin items. The biggest thing we love? It makes our lives easier as operators.”
Daniel Betancourt, owner of WYWH Coffee
What the 15% is
It is Daniel’s figure, for sales of WYWH’s higher-margin items after the video menu went in. He runs the business, and he reported it.
It is not a number PlatePost measured. We have not seen the sales data behind it, so this page does not give a date range, a baseline or a dollar amount, and it does not say the menu caused the whole increase. Our other study, at Kei Coffee House, is built on four weeks of till data and shows its working. This one is an owner telling you what he saw.

We will build your menu from your real items first, the way we did for WYWH Coffee, and you can look at it before you decide anything.
Where this comes from
- The 15%
- Reported by Daniel Betancourt, owner of WYWH Coffee. Not measured by PlatePost, and not independently checked.
- What would make it a measured result
- WYWH’s Toast sales for its higher-margin items over matching periods before and after the video menu. With those, this study would show its working the way the Kei Coffee House study does.
- The recorded quote
- Daniel Betancourt, on video, in his own words.
